The lights in your house run on electricity. Most of the cars on the road run on
gasoline. What do WE run on? Food! More specifically, we run on the calories in the foods we eat.
To illustrate, think back to the last time you went too long without eating. How did you feel? Light-headed? Hungry? Tired? Grumpy?
We feel bad because our body runs on calories. And, when we don’t eat adequate calories to meet our needs, we don’t perform well.
On the other hand, since calories fuel us…when you eat a really large meal (such as on the weekends or holiday time), you have tons of energy, right? No? Hmmmm. What’s happening here?
Some of us have a love/hate relationship with calories…but there’s no way around it, we need calories to survive. But, to have the proper “energy” to live life to its fullest, we need to have the right type of food, at the right time, in the right quantity!
