“The body is unable to digest certain foods if they are eaten in the wrong combination.” And, this is why we’re gaining weight! Hence the recommendation to not eat fruits with other foods, and not to combine meats with starches. Have you heard this too?
Is there any truth to it? Here’s one simple way to prove that this is a bunch of boloney. Think of your digestive system as one long tube (all the way from your mouth to your butt hole). As food enters your mouth, it travels down this tube. Along the way the food is broken down into tiny pieces, and absorbed into the rest of your body. Anything leftover (not digested) ends up in the toilet – which means we didn’t get the calories from that food. So, if combining certain foods prevented your body from digesting it, it would end up in the toilet….meaning you would lose weight, not gain weight.
