Shape Magazine quoted dietitians (including Dr. Jo!) about their favorites in their article titled, 15 Healthy Ingredients to Add to Breakfast.
My favorite ingredient is nuts, especially walnuts and almonds. They help to boost the protein, healthy monounsaturated fat, and fiber content of any meal. Protein helps with satiety and alertness. Those healthy fats are good for your heart. And, fiber helps to keep you regular – and since nuts are rich in soluble fiber…that means they help to keep your cholesterol in the normal range. And, oh, they taste fabulous!
