I know it sounds hokey, but ever since I met my husband at a Cracker Barrel, the restaurant has held a special place in my heart. But, getting foods that didn’t clog up my arteries were another matter.
Well, today, Cracker Barrel announced their new Wholesome Fixin’s menu. Taking up a full page on the menu, it offers five new breakfast choices and six lunch and dinner offerings, all under 600 calories, along with four new side items.
Among them: multigrain French toast with a honey-citrus-yogurt topping ($6.59); buttermilk oven-fried chicken breast ($7.99); pecan-crusted catfish ($8.69); pepper grilled sirloin ($10.49); and the Good Morning Breakfast ($7.19), featuring cholesterol-free Egg Beaters and turkey bacon or sausage. Sides include seasonal fruit that will change five times a year.
