When people meet me, they assume that I’m a natural high-energy person – but that’s not true. Just read my story below about why I got into the health field. After a long battle, I got my energy back – and that’s what drives me to inspires others to stay healthy, sane, and productive.
Most of us are born with lots of energy, optimism, and joy – just watch any two-year old. Unfortunately, many of us destroy that natural energy by sleeping less than we need, overloading on less-healthy foods, and working long days without balancing it with movement, play, and hobbies. I understand. I destroyed mine, too. But, we can get off that vicious cycle and enjoy life once again.
I believe having optimal energy is at the center of everything we strive for. Too many people make goals of losing weight, increasing sales, making more money, improving relationships – and then fail because they just don’t have the physical, emotional, and mental energy to succeed. Without energy, everything is so much more difficult – work, hobbies, relationships, goals…life!
With a background in a variety of professional experiences, I now inspire audiences all over North America and abroad (more than 1000 groups, including corporations, associations, and women’s events) about staying healthy, sane, and productive. Many in my audience are professionals who have achieved great success – at the detriment of their health and personal life.
My interactive programs offer scientifically proven lifestyle strategies that even the busiest of people can incorporate into their lives. All it takes is a few small changes in the way we eat, think, move, and sleep can help improve our productivity at work…so we have more energy when we come home to the most important people. I often refer to these changes as “no big deal changes” because I invite people to make the changes that are the easiest to change – the ones that make people respond, “Oh, that’s ‘no big deal’. I can do that!”
Participants often comment that I’m “energetic, funny, entertaining”…and that my solutions are “realistic, practical, simple.” As a PhD nutritionist and registered dietitian, I’ve written five books designed to keep busy people healthy, sane, & productive. In the process of writing my latest book, Reboot – how to power up your energy, focus, and productivity, I reviewed nearly two thousand medical research studies.
